Minister of labour and social protection of population Salim Muslumov met with members of the Public Council under the Ministry (VIDEO)
At present, the ministry cooperates with up to 60 civil society institutions specialized in the relevant fields Minister of labour and social protection of population of the Republic of Azerbaijan Salim Muslumov met with representatives of civil society institutions elected to the new composition of the Public Council under the Ministry.
At the meeting, S.Muslumov emphasized that the creation of conditions for public participation in the public administration system and on this basis the implementation of public control are among the tasks assigned to public institutions by the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. In accordance with the Law "On public participation ", the establishment of the Public Council under the Ministry also serves to ensure public participation in relevant areas of activity: "The new composition of the Council has been selected because the duration of the activity of the previous composition of the Council stipulated by the legislation came to an end. Special attention is always paid to the implementation of the election process on the principles of impartiality, equal treatment, transparency and these principles have been fully met in determining the new composition of the Council. That is, without any outside interference, the new composition of the Council, consisting of 15 members has been formed on the basis of the choices of civil society institutions. On the front page of the Ministry's official website (www.mlspp.gov.az), there is also the "Public Council" section where all information about the Council, including its new content, is presented".
S. Muslumov emphasized that in general, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population operates in close cooperation with civil societies. The minister said that a Memorandum of Understanding on the Joint Cooperation between the Ministry and the Council has been signed still in September 2014, as the first collaboration document between the state bodies and the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan: "Social services based on social orders are implemented in cooperation with 35 specialized NGOs. Also, 10 non-governmental organizations have been accredited by the relevant Commission in the Ministry for providing social services to victims of domestic violence. At the same time, representatives of 15 civil society institutions are represented in the Public Council, which operates under the ministry. As can be seen, the Ministry cooperates with up to 60 civil society institutions specializing in relevant fields".
S.Muslumov noted that along with this, meetings with the heads of public associations on the disabled of Karabakh war, January 20, Chernobyl, visually impaired, the war veterans and other population groups are periodically held, their opinions and suggestions are heard and public discussions and consultations are held on these or other relevant issues.
Bringing to the attention significant reforms have been carried out in recent years to improve the labor and social protection system through modern international experience and national initiatives, the minister said that the work in this direction will be also continued in the upcoming period.
Members of the Council expressed their satisfaction with the fact that public participation in the activity of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population was endorsed in all forms, close cooperation of the ministry with civil societies, as well as the principle of equal treatment and transparency in selecting the new composition of the Public Council under the Ministry. They emphasized that the Public Council would fulfill its responsibilities in a proper manner and would work to contribute to the reforms in the field of labor and social protection in our country.
Then S. Muslumov invited the members of the Public Council to an open discussion on the work done on the fields of activity of the ministry, implemented reform measures, legislative projects, and etc.
Council membership cards were presented to the representatives of civil society institutions elected to the new composition of the Public Council at the meeting.
